While awake...

10 000 more words need to be written before midnight on Thursday.
No problem.
I'll also try to memorize "You Are Old Father William" while I'm at it.
Perhaps it will feel like balancing an eel on my nose?
Glögg season is here. Thank God for that!
P.S.
Remember...
You Gotta Give To Get Back

While awake...
Soundtrack of the writing process...
• "Out of Reach" by Gabrielle (Bridget and Mr. Darcy can melt any grumpy cold heart AND gives a surprising je ne sais quoi to a sci fi yarn...)
• "Lost Angeles" by All Wired Wrong (when you start humming "I'm the owner of a smoking gun" in the shower you know you got the gist of this song!)
• "Under the Milky Way" by the Church (first song I will learn when I finally get a new guitar)
• "Cynical Girl" by Marshall Crenshaw (hell, this song makes me want to be a cynical girl!)
• "Haiti" by The Arcade Fire (awesome hypnotic beat)
• "That's Me" by ABBA (I do however believe in fairy tales and am married)
• "Ain't No Easy Way by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club" (second song I will learn when I finally get a new guitar)
• "Wherever You Go" by Built to Spill (even more awesome in person)
• "Cherry-Coloured Funk" by Cocteau Twins (great recording of yearning)
• "Take a Chance on Me" by ABBA (lullaby in the '70s...)
• "Boy Blue" by ELO (saw the painting, love this song - I mean listen to the intro... genius!)
• "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers (yeah, I like it, because it reminds me of my youth)
• "Grand Canyon" by Magnetic Fields (lucky girl, eh boy I suppose, who was the subject of this song)
• "Can't Get It Out Of My Head" by ELO (another nice song to have stuck in your head... as opposed to that "Cruising Together" they always play in the supermarket, ugh!)
• "Else" by Built To Spill (lovely... simply lovely)
• "Those Eyes, That Mouth" by Cocteau Twins (read title for explanation)
• "Half-Gifts" by Cocteau Twins (the truth about love)
• "Calfskin Smack" by Cocteau Twins (hey, that sounds like something an angry British woman would threaten her husband with!)
• "Rilkean Heart" by Cocteau Twins (ask my husband)
• "Lyin' Eyes" by The Eagles (drive to Arizona and you'll get it)
• "Your Own Special Way" by Genesis (perfect sci fi song!)
• "Afterglow" by Genesis (OK, another sci fi song)
• "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day (heros sometimes have to walk alone...)
• "Twilight Campfighter" by Guided By Voices (freaking genius English teacher turned Rock Star!)
• "Hot Freaks" by Guided By Voices ("This one is on the house, this one is better than EVER!")
• "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses (first 40 seconds)
• "American English" by Idlewild (because words mean so much to me)
• "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (I wish I would have had the honor to hear this song live - it is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard)
• "Explain" by Jeremy Enigk (what a great proclamation!)
• "All These Things That I 've Done" by The Killers ("Yeah, oh don't you put me on the back burner!" or "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier")
• "Kiss Me Like You Mean It" by Magnetic Fields (great song to clean the house to!)
• "The World At Large" by Modest Mouse (hip hop for us losers who want melody in it)
• "Float On" by Modest Mouse (makes the morning commute just float on... with some serious head bobbing... it's all OK!)
• "Shaking The Tree" by Peter Gabriel ("Souma yergon!" Hey, women can also shake trees!)
• "Nightswimming" by REM (long shot, but I would like to learn how to play this one on the piano, i.e. dream on)
• "Mistress" by Red House Painters (holy ground as far as music goes)
• "Rollercoaster" by Red House Painters (THE song)
• "Out of Control" by She Wants Revenge (naughty lyrics but hey, these are modern times!)
• "Half A Person" by The Smiths (The Smiths grew on me)
• "Ask" by The Smiths (moral: don't be shy)
• "Unlovable" by The Smiths (I challenge you to sing this one out loud)
• "Girlfriend In A Coma" by The Smiths (how can such an awful message make me so happy?)
• "Run" by Snowpatrol (overplayed but still sweet)
• "Coming Down" by Starsailor (another great guitar song)
• "Four To The Floor" by Starsailor (pompous cool song that makes me happy)
• "Your Star Will Shine" by The Stone Roses (by now you know I love guitar and it is a nice song to end with...)
