Saturday

I am leaving a large gathering to take one of the buses home. I want to sit in the same bus as a friend and try to hurry. I want to fetch a jacket I have in another room before I run out. I end up missing the bus. I see how the buses take off, and when the bus passes me I look to see if my friend sits there. I think so.

Now I am walking on a complicated freeway system. I lose my balance and realize a rather strong earthquake has just begun! I can completely feel the rolling motion and am afraid that the concrete highway above me will tumble down. I begin to walk away from the road.

Now I am walking along the forest road. I am driving now. Then I see that the earthquake has broken off part of the road and that I cannot get through with my Jeep. Finally I seem to get home. I want to walk out on the fields below the house and stand there in the midst of nothing.

Now I wake up in the old bedroom and find that a Black Widow spider has spun a thick web at the foot of my bed. I see the large black spider in the web and stand up to get away from it. It follows me into the kitchen. It is almost crab-like and intelligent. It is fast and knows I am escaping. While I rush into the livingroom I see a scorpion, and know that this spider is much more dangerous. It would almost be better to be chased by a scorpion...
