To someone who needs to win

The Amazon

I dreamt of swords last night.
I dreamt of battles last night.
I dreamt I fought by your side
armed and strong, last night.

A hard flash of lightning came from your hand
and the troll fell at your feet.
Our troops closed in around us and sang
in the threat of silent darkness.

I dreamt of blood last night.
I dreamt of death last night.
I dreamt I fell by your side
with a mortal wound, last night.

You never even noticed that I fell.
So grave was your mouth.
With steady hand you held your shield
and went upon your way.

I dreamt of fire last night.
I dreamt of roses last night.
I dreamt my death was fair and good.
That is how I dreamt last night.

Magnificent Glimmer of Hope

One day when my not-yet-written science fiction space trilogy (which of course will be post-apocalyptic) is ready to meet the world I would love for Daniel Dociu to help visualize it! Just the right amount of melancholic magnificent glimmer of hope in a bizarre and vast future. Daniel Dociu's gallery here.

That Was Then...

All of a sudden I remembered it. I used to sit on another shore, far away, and long to sit on the other side of the world. This song pretty much sums it up.

On the way home I drive a large SUV. I have driven here before but it has been years. I come to a familiar house and stop for directions. Right around the corner is the road that I wanted to take - now covered and overgrown with healthy and green grass! I even see a couple of cows grazing right where the road used to go. The grass is a little lower there so the path of the old road is easily discerned . But I cannot drive there. It might be too soft and who knows where it nowadays will end. I look at a newer road that lead behind newer homes. I am pretty good at finding alternative routes. I have an excellent sense of direction.
